Preventive medicine

Vaccinations are an important consideration when planning a trip to Africa.  We visited a travel clinic yesterday and fewer needles than expected were required.  Nat needed only yellow fever and tetanus, and Jayne yellow fever and hepA.  Two needles each – not so bad.  Better a few seconds of discomfort than catching some scary disease.  We also need to take malaria meds for 19 days @ $6 per pill (steep but again, better than the alternative).  The lesson of the day:  mosquitoes are the root of all evil and pack bug spray with DEET!!

The dreaded root of all evil!

The dreaded root of all evil!
